hello hello! before i get into some thoughts for today’s new moon in aquarius, i wanted to let all my newsletter friends in on a secret. i’ve got a website!
check it out for some background on my tarot reading journey and my current tarot offerings. ya’ll are also the first to be able to book through this new system i’m trying. so if you feel called to, fill out that request form on the ‘my offerings’ tab, and let’s pull some cards!
thank you all for your continued support. on to my thoughts for this new moon in aquarius!
let’s focus on two cards today: the seven of swords and the star.
the seven of swords is associated with the moon in aquarius. typically a card interpreted as mistrust and deception, it can feel like an unwelcome vibe for a new moon. aren’t new moons for new beginnings and manifestation? shouldn’t we be reflecting on more confident and assured cards than the seven of swords?
i might argue this is the perfect time to highlight those doubtful parts of ourselves. in the seven of swords, this figure does not trust that they are safe with only two swords, so they reach for five more. more times than not, that is how we’re actually feeling in the dark of an empty moon. things have not yet manifested. perhaps they never will. like that figure, we too might be wondering when the light will come, scrambling for protection, for our safety blankets, for anything to give us comfort.
the star represents aquarius itself and is our guide through the uneasy darkness of this new moon. it is a beautiful reminder of how this world is so big and our journeys so long. it is a reminder of the importance of stillness and trust, rather than effort and fuss. the star sits light years away, unbothered, doing nothing at all. and yet, it is always enough to make us, if we take the time to look up, stare in awe.
you will probably be hit with many new moon messages today, not too mention the many other astrological events this week. if you are feeling scattered at all, or are scrambling to utilize a certain transit’s energy in the right way, i encourage you to pause and remember the stars. they make these transits and phases independent of you. follow their lead. do a ritual in a different way than the usual. make one up from things that are special to you and you alone. send an email about the new moon in aquarius an hour after it actually happens…or better yet, do nothing at all. be still this new moon and know that you are enough.
